The ventilation outlet is generally combined with the drain plug and installed at the 3 o'clock or 9 o'clock position. Its primary function is to facilitate the drainage of condensation that occurs when moisture in the insulation layer interacts with the air in the drainage system. This condensation can manifest when water vapor cools down and forms liquid or when ice within the insulation layer encounters warm air from the drain plug, leading to melting.

This condensation process operates under the principle of gravity, allowing the moisture to flow out of the insulation layer. As the moisture vapor decreases, a negative pressure is created underneath the insulation layer. This negative pressure compresses the insulation material, allowing the moisture-laden air to be expelled.

The expelled moisture then flows through the ventilation outlet, utilizing the gravitational force and the negative pressure created to ensure proper airflow and circulation. Ultimately, this system enables the moisture to be drained through the drain plug located at the 6 o'clock position, completing the ventilation and drainage cycle.
