The plastic cap shall be made of environmentally friendly materials (PVC or PE), possess good elasticity, and be suitable for outdoor storage for at least 12 months (resistant to low and high temperatures). (Outdoor storage for at least 12 months is a contractual requirement for all customers.)
The plastic cap shall provide beveled end protection, have sufficient thickness and hardness, good plasticity, and be impact-resistant.
The bevel length at the pipe end is usually 10–30 mm, and the end section of 50 mm is the on-site welding area that must be fully protected. Therefore, the required depth of the externally-fitted plastic pipe cap is as follows:
